Toronto, Ontario lab designed to provide full range testing and certification services for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances

UL, a global safety science organization, today announced the official opening of the newest UL safety testing facility for appliances and controls in Toronto, ON. This laboratory complements UL’s existing service portfolio with a custom-designed safety testing facility.

“This new state of the art facility was designed to address the growing demand of the gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances industry in Canada”, explained Joe Hosey, General Manager, UL in Canada. “The facility complements our current testing and certification services and we are able to provide Canadian manufacturers full service solutions locally. UL is committed to keeping manufacturers in the forefront and supporting innovation in the combustion appliance market.”

  • Outsource Testing (testing can take place at customer facility or UL facility)

This is the second of two new combustion testing facilities in the North American market (the first laboratory was opened in Newton, Iowa in November 2015).
